Mr. Cook is a graduate of Gettysburg College, which is appropriate of a historian like him. Mr. Cook hosts a podcast and is a historian in the truest sense of the word. Recently, Mr. Cook hosted an exhibit at Hudson Catholic on the Legacy of Emancipation. In his spare time, Mr. Cook loves sports (Go Mets!) and has worked on politcal campaigns and been a sports referee.
"Be open to learning about many different things, and never hesitate to try to find out more," he says. "In history class, it's easy to think that it's all about politicians and laws and battles and dates, but history is much more than that. Any subject you have an interest in -- war, sports, fashion, music, movies, science, literature, etc. -- has a history of its own, and I want you to feel free to explore that in my class and beyond. Learning doesn't need to end at the schoolhouse door."
