On Wednesday, 9/28/22 Saint Peter's University held its 150 TH. Michaelmas Convocation Academic Awards Program in Saint Aidan's Church. Of the awards given to the University's "best and brightest" students for their academic achievement during the 2021-2022 school year were a number of Dual Enrollment students achieving the aforementioned honors. Achieving Dean's List Honors were; Genesis Maravillas, Cheyenne Murray, Akshaye Tamasar, and Alexa Villaver who were all Dual Enrollment students of Cohort # 1/Class of 2021 of Hudson Catholic, and Xochilt Turijan who was in Dual Enrollment Cohort #2/Class of 2022. Other awards included; the Alpha Alpha Alpha, National Honor Society for First Generation College Students awarded to Akshaye Tamasar. The Alpha Phi Sigma, Criminal Justice Honor Society was awarded to Alexa Villaver. The Beta Beta Beta, National Biological Honor Society was awarded to Akshaye Tamasar. The Pi Mu Epsilon, Mathematical Honor Society was awarded to Genesis Maravillas. Akshaye Tamasar was also inducted into the Most Noble Order of the Peacock. This award dates back to 1930 and is the most prestigious academic award given at the Michaelmas Convocation. There were only 10 MNOP Awards given to students this year. Akshaye will graduate from Saint Peter's University this May with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. He will be 19 years old! His future plans consist of a gap year (2023-2024) of volunteer service at hospitals and/or research work. During his gap year Akshaye will apply to medical schools. We congratulate all of our Hudson Catholic Dual Enrollment Alumna and will continue to track their success.
