Hudson Catholic Regional High School has a 56 year history built upon an over 300-year long tradition of Lasallian education. Founded as one of a number of regional high schools in 1964 by then Archbishop Thomas Boland of the Newark Archdiocese, the school had been conducted until 2012 under the leadership of the De La Salle Christian Brothers.
The Lasallian ethos, as it has been passed down for over 50 years, still distinguishes the community today, with the on-going use of traditional prayers and more importantly, the concept of Hudson Catholic being a student-centered school with an emphasis on service to others still holding sway.
Hudson Catholic is a college preparatory high school that, until 2008, served only young men, but at that time decided to extend enrollment to young ladies as well. This was a highly successful move on the school’s part, with the young ladies bringing in new energies and outlooks.
Our school offers a comprehensive, demanding curriculum, and a widely varied extracurricular program that focuses on spiritual, social, and physical values. High-tech equipment, including Smart projectors in each classroom, A one-to-one computing program permeates each classroom and laboratory. Students are encouraged both to grow individually and be responsible to the whole school community.
Founded to meet the needs of the sons of European immigrants, the school now addresses the needs of a very diverse population of young men and women drawn from every imaginable ethnic and socioeconomic group.
First accredited in 1970 by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, Hudson Catholic was informed of its continued accreditation in the spring of 2020.
The school’s administration and staff, supported by extremely active alumni and parent organizations, have accepted the challenge to provide an excellent Christ-centered educational experience to all of our current and future students.
